There are 2 ways to transfer a domain name to someone else (another registrar) or within the same registrar, (easy and quick)

Most of our domains and client domains are registered at the largest registrar, Go Daddy.

If you don’t have a Go Daddy account it’s easy to open one here and best of all it’s free.

Once you have opened your account and paid us in full for your selected domain we will transfer it into your very own account. It is a very simple process and only takes you a few minutes to accept the transfer, after that the domain is your intellectual property.

There are no hidden costs with GO DADDY.

Should you have an account for transfer to another registrar it is normally initiated by a request from the receiving person, the buyer. You would do this within your registrar account. The process of transferring a domain name will involve renewing the domain name for an additional year, which will be added to the domain name once it has been received into your account at the receiver. There will most always be a cost for transferring a domain name.

It can take up to a week for a domain name to transfer, the buyer will pay all the associated costs.

REMEMBER, On your "to do" list, once the transfer is completed and the domain is in your chosen registrar verify all the contacts (Registrant, Administrative, Technical, and Billing) this is YOUR responsibility and to ensure you can prove you are the lawful owner.

Note that after a registration transfer, all transfers except a transfer back to the previous registrar are prohibited for 60 days. This mean that you should not transfer registrars right when you are contemplating selling the domain and that you should research the new registrar carefully.

There are many types of webhosting services, some are free, shared, managed and can even be dedicated.

Domain Registrar.

A domain name registrar is an organization or commercial entity, accredited by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) or by a national country code top-level domain (ccTLD) authority, to manage the reservation of Internet domain names in accordance with the guidelines of the designated domain name registries and offer such services to the public.

Many registrars offer registration through reseller affiliates. An end-user registers either directly with a registrar, or indirectly through one or more layers of resellers. As of 2008, the cost generally ranges from a low of about $7.50 per year to about $35 per year. The maximum period of registration of a domain name is generally 10 years.
